Dr. Ava Dorfman is a pediatric neuropsychologist providing comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults in New York City and Westchester County. She specializes in the assessment of learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectually gifted children and adolescents with co-occurring learning, attention, or social-emotional difficulties (referred to in educational settings as “twice-exceptional” or “2e”).

Dr. Dorfman has particular expertise in evaluating complex cases involving multiple or overlapping neurodevelopmental concerns, as well as individuals whose difficulties may be subtle or easily overlooked, including females and males with less readily apparent presentations of autism. Through rigorous clinical training at distinguished academic medical centers, Dr. Dorfman also has extensive experience in the neuropsychological assessment of individuals with neurological and chronic medical conditions, including concussion/traumatic brain injury and seizures/epilepsy.

She also provides evaluations for college students and young adults seeking clarification of previously undiagnosed neurodevelopmental conditions, as well as evaluations to document the need for accommodations on high-stakes examinations (e.g., GRE, LSAT).
